Back
He Heard My Cry
When my heart was breaking,
And I thought no one was there.
When life seemed overwhelming,
And much more than I could bear,
It was only my perception,
Not the truth as I know it to be.
For not only was He there,
But He gathered you and me.
Into His arms of comfort.
Surrounding us with a love,
a love so awe inspiring
it brings glimpses of above.
I must stop and take a moment
To know that He faces life with me.
And this battle will be won,
Down upon my knees.
There will be battles, He told me,
Arrows fired from the enemy's bow.
I must be ready to make a stand,
No giving in to the ungodly foes.
"I am with you, " He has promised.
"You are mine . . . and I am yours.
And when the time is come for you,
I will open heaven's doors."
Will I let the enemy's arrows
bring me to my knees?
Or will it be my love of Christ,
that lays within my hand the keys?
The keys to peace and comfort,
Are mine if only I decide,
To walk with the One and only God,
Who is the ruler of the skies.
Are all my questions answered?
No,… but my heart can rest assured,
That I belong to the one who loves me
The only ONE who will endure.
